THE LISTENING PROGRAM®
Music For Your Brain To Improve Listening, Learning and Communication Abilities

What is The Listening Program?
The Listening Program® (TLP) is a Music-Based Auditory Stimulation method that trains the brain to improve the auditory skills needed to effectively listen, learn, and communicate.

It consists of an extensive series of high-quality audio CDs that integrate specially produced acoustic music, primarily classical, with innovative sound processing techniques that exercise the brain and auditory pathways.

Advanced Brain Technologies, LLC (ABT) develops The Listening Program products building upon key concepts originated by the late Alfred Tomatis, M.D., a pioneer in the field of auditory intervention. The ABT interdisciplinary development team is comprised of experienced professionals in the therapeutic, health, neurodevelopment, education, music and sound engineering fields.

Available through an international network of over 1,300 professionals The Listening Program is for home use and implementation in schools, healthcare centers, hospitals, companies, early intervention and music programs. Tens of thousands of children, adolescents and adults worldwide have benefited from this easy, affordable, enjoyable, and effective method of auditory stimulation.

Who Can Benefit?
Anyone can benefit from improved listening function, auditory processing, communication skills and relief from "toxic noise." The Listening Program is used by people of all ages, starting as young as age two, with empirical evidence demonstrating benefits for:

The typically developing child

Individuals experiencing listening, sensory, learning, language, reading, attention, memory, social, communication, and auditory processing difficulties

Those interested in improved communication and speaking skills, musical ability, learning potential, creativity and well being

The Program
The Listening Program Classic Kit is the core of The Listening Program. It is initially used following a standard schedule of listening five days per week for fifteen to 30 minutes each day, over the course of 8-16 weeks. Then the Kit is used for a second cycle to ensure the listener has received sufficient auditory stimulation to accomplish and maintain initial listening goals and results. Most people find they feel better and realize further gains with continued listening beyond the second cycle.

TLP Specialized CD5 are used for program refinement in specific areas such as speech and language abilities, and for preparatory listening with younger or more sensory sensitive listeners prior to beginning standard schedules. Programs are individualized using the proprietary A, B, C design and CD5 of varying levels of intensity and purpose as needed.

Programs are self-administered under the monitoring and consultation of a trained Authorized Provider of The Listening Program. Listening is done through high-quality TLP-approved headphones.

Modular CD Design
The modular design of each sixty-minute TLP CD includes four 15-minute segments. There are three 5-minute tracks per segment. The first track of a segment is “A’s the second is “B”, and the third is “C”.

The A track supports listeners as they gradually adjust to the experience of filtered sound and prepares them to be receptive to the B track, which presents the greatest intensity of filtered sound with audio bursting. The C track helps organize the experience and return listeners to their natural listening environment.

The Music Of Arcangelos
The Listening Program CD5 include audiophile quality recordings of classical, classically inspired, improvised, folk and children’s music produced by ABT Music and performed by the award-winning members of The Arcangelos Chamber Ensemble. The music is carefully selected, arranged and recorded to maximize the benefits of each TLP Program and CD. Compositions include the works of Mozart, Hayden, Bach, Vivaldi, Corelli, Salieri, Telemann, and others. High quality nature sounds are also interwoven into many of the soundscapes for added listening training and spatial awareness.
