What We Do: Applied Behavior Analysis
What is ABA?
Applied Behavior Analysis is the study of behavior. It has been used effectively to treat children on the autism spectrum (as well as all children with special needs) for over 30 years. ABA therapists make objective, data-based decisions in creating treatment programs that are individualized to each child. This means that every program is written specifically for each child based upon their personal behaviors and verbal ability, making it highly individualized and reinforcing.
The ABA program used at Trinitas focuses on early intervention through addressing a child’s language and verbal behavior, reducing problem behaviors, and acquiring new skills. This is achieved by engaging children in positive and reinforcing ways in a natural environment teaching situation.
ABA may be used to teach and acquire new skills such as:

Verbal and language skills |

Social skills |

Academic skills |

Self-help skills |

Gross and fine motor skills |
ABA therapy can also be used to effectively treat severe feeding problems, to teach intensive toilet training, and to treat abnormal sleep patterns. Our therapy team is also able to offer services to typically developing children engaging in problem behaviors. We believe that all children can acquire new skills if treated effectively and that intelligent and able children may engage in problem behaviors, but there is no such thing as a
problem child!
